FAQ
How is this different from standard AI ethics consulting?
AI ethics consulting typically produces principles, frameworks, and training decks. We produce playbooks, escalation maps, rollback criteria, and maintenance rhythms. Principles tell you what to value. We tell you who presses the button and how they know when.
How much does an engagement cost?
Clinical AI safety evaluations run $35,000–50,000. VC diligence assessments run $15,000–25,000. Custom embedded governance engagements are scoped per project. We can give you a firm price after a 30-minute scoping call.
What’s the difference between a Maintenance Playbook and a Reversibility Kit?
A Maintenance Playbook is for rehearsal: who reviews what, on what cadence, with what escalation triggers. A Reversibility Kit is for execution: the exact steps to roll back a deployment, restore the fallback system, and verify data integrity. One is a drill. The other is the fire extinguisher.
What should we bring to the first call?
One painful process and one constraint: audit pressure, workflow risk, or operator burnout.
How long are engagements?
Two to eight weeks depending on scope. Diagnostics take 1-2 weeks. Full engagements with playbooks and rehearsals run 4-8.
Do you work with startups?
Yes. Startups at seed to Series B use the VC diligence assessment ($15-25K) or a 2-week readiness sprint ($10-15K). We scope to what you can act on, not what fills a deck.
What happens after the engagement ends?
Your team gets playbooks and runbooks they can execute without us. That includes escalation maps, maintenance rhythms, rollback checklists, and evidence log templates. We also offer quarterly maintenance check-ins for teams that want an external pulse.
How do we know if we’re ready to engage?
Run the readiness check. If you have a deployed AI system in a regulated or safety-critical context and someone on your team can name a recent incident where escalation was unclear, you are ready.
